TREE PAINTING:
To create the artwork i had to sketch a tree roughly. Then we went back and started a new drawing with more detail. Then after the detailed drawing was finished we started a bigger and better drawing of the same tree and we would finish it with paint. But only greenish colors. We took some time to figure out the different types of greens we could make using yellow,black,white and blue. The ten different greens i came up with were:
Forest Green - a dark rich green
Swamp Green - an almost brown green
Sunflower Green - an almost yellow green
White Green - an almost white green (very light)
Blinding Green - an extremely bright bold green
Deep Green - a very deep dark green
Sea Green- a blueish green
Jade Green - a light Jade (stone) green
Smokey Green - a sort of gray green
Mud Green - a light brownish green
I learned using lighter shades of color for detailing and creating depth and shadows really makes your work stand out.
In my own opinion i think i did quite well on this painting because i really liked the way it turned out. If i could change something about it i would have used less light colors for detailing because i think i got a bit carried away with detailing.
I tried to recreate the small brush strokes of Vincent Van Gogh's famous art work but in the end i stopped. I think my impressionism was ok but not that good because it really just wasn't as good as i had hoped in that category.
